PITT Graphite Matt pencils are extra-break resistant and are made using carbon-neutral manufacturing methods. Faber Castell source their materials from certified sustainable, FSC approved wood suppliers. Each pencil is finished with an environmentally friendly water-based varnish. These pencils do not contain any animal-derived ingredients so are vegan friendly.

Amazing pencils
These pencils are indeed very matte. I bought a single pencil from HB up to 14B each so I was able to see how each grade works.
The lower grade pencils are not as dark as regular graphite pencils, but that is why I end up using up to 8B and in some cases 10B. Nevertheless, they do produce a matte result with only a small amount of reflection (it is still graphite after all) and blend easily with a blender stump.
Also, I did manage to get through most of my HB pencil on a single 11" x 14" drawing, so I will be stocking up on HB pencils.

I bought three of these pencils in different grades. I was disappointed to find that they weren’t very matt, and the effects were more like coloured pencils, so I won’t be buying any more.

I have looked for Matt Pencils for quite awhile and when I saw these thought I would try them. They have a slight shine when you use them point down, but if you slant the pencil to make a shadow or shade under a tree, the result is excellent. I am very happy with them.
