Roberson Oil Gold Size

Roberson Oil Gold Size is an adhesive designed for use with metal leaf, gold leaf and bronze powders. You can use this adhesive on any non-absorbent painted surface including canvas, panel, wall, glass or metal. If the surface you plan to gild is absorbent then seal using Roberson Shellac Varnish Clear. Just paint the area you wish to stick the metal leaf to and wait until the correct tackines is achieved. This size is ready to apply leaf to when it reaches the tackiness of sellotape - this usually takes three hours. Place the metal leaf face down and rub gently - the metal leaf will stick to the areas where the adhesive has been applied.
