The Caran d'Ache Plexiglass Palette Aquarelle is a unique double sided palette that is suitable for all kinds of media. This palette has both a rough and smooth side. The rough side has enough texture to encourage colour deposits from water-soluble dry media like pencils and crayons. Just apply dry colour directly ont the rough surface, then activate with a wet brush to lift the colour and use like a regular palette. The smooth side will accept all media and can be used as you would a normal palette. This palette is non-absorbent, so water-soluble paint can be left to dry and easily reactivated the next time you paint. Oils and acrylics can be washed from the palette or peeled if dry.
Specially designed for use with all water-soluble Caran d'Ache products including Museum Aquarelle, Supracolor, Neocolor II, Technalo and Prismalo.
This palette measures 260mm x 130mm.

Write a reviewNothing to dislike about this useful accessory. Great for using as a small pallett for water colour paints , acrylics and I would guess can be used for oil paints on the smooth side. For me using it for water colour pencils is where it really shines. Brilliant surface for putting on your water colour pencil pigments direct to the pallett for turning into water colour paint for your painting avoiding any water colour pencil lines. Then there is the added bonus of being able to mix your water colour pencils on the pallett before placing on your painting. Very neat and useful.
Bought to go with my Derwent inktense supplies.
This palette is small but unique with one smooth side and one rough side.
So far , only tested a rough side that works perfectly with the Derwent intense.
I will be using the smooth alongside my water colour palette so that I have more mixing space
I bought the palette to use with watercolour pencils and the rough side is ideal to deposit colour on it and then use the colour as a watercolour wash. Very pleased with it.
