Smooth, velvety surface offering superb adhesion for soft pastels.
Surface reduces need for fixative, enabling easy layering of vibrant colour.
Full size sheets measuring 50cm x 70cm.
Minimum 5 sheets per order (can be any mix of colours)
Clairefontaine Pastelmat is a revolutionary pastel painting surface, now available in 50cm x 70cm 360gsm (170lb) sheets in 10 colours. Pastelmat offers a smooth, velvety surface that delivers brilliant adherence when used with soft pastels.
This new concept for the pastel market reduces the need for applying fixative between each layer, so you can add successive layers while still retaining the same vibrant colour. It's soft surface also means it is gentle on your pastels, fingers and any other tools that you use to manipulate your colour. It's texture falls between the softness of velour and the coarseness of sandpaper. It is also exceptionally durable, will stand up to rubbing and is also water-resistant. While specifically designed for use for pastels, this surface can also be used with charcoal or pencil.
Minimum 5 Sheets per Order (can be any mix of colours)

Write a reviewI offer Demonstration's and Workshops around the North West in all Mediums, but Pastel is a favourite, and for my Demo's I always use Pastelmat Anthracite. Also, I encourage my student to buy the same surface, and would always quote Ken Bromley for supply.
The surface is brilliant for accepting many layers of pastel, and make it a pleasure to blend, making it the "must use" surface. Ken Bromley offers this at a great price.
Well pleased with the pastelmat I never use anything else for my pastels pictures whether it be soft, pastel pencils or Pan pastels
Takes layers of pastel and allows easy blending. Expensive but the best I have used for soft pastel work.
