Write a reviewI am forever buying note- and sketchbooks to find the perfect one, and this may be the one. It is a properly bound book with genuine hard covers, the workmanship is excellent and it looks cool! The paper is a nice thickness that will take washes and has a lovely 'tooth' to it. Compare this to some of the better known brands and this is excellent value.
In terms of negatives, they are odd sizes and, like a hardback book, have a tendency to close on you when you're not looking. Also, if you like a perfectly smooth drawing surface or a sketchbook with proper watercolour paper then this may not be for you.
But these are beautiful sketchbooks that you'll fall in love with.
I have had a couple of these and they are not only beatiful to look at, they are great sketch books.
The paper is heavy weight and takes line and wash and any kind of dry media. It is particularly good with something like Conte Carres or a Carbon pencil as the paper is very grippy and makes great textural marks. It also takes pen equally well, and they look classy to boot!
I like the look and feel of the sketch book. The paper is nice and thick. It is still new and the pages do not always lie flat.
