Each Heavy Body colour formula reflects the qualities of its pigment. Colours that tolerate a higher pigment load dry to a more opaque, matte finish. Colours that are more reactive and do not allow as much pigment loading tend to have a glossier, more transparent, finish. Because Heavy Body Colours contain no matting agents, the gloss of each colour will be different.
Golden believe that artists have the right to know what chemicals they are working with, and so have developed their own Health & Safety labelling system. You should follow basic precautions when using any Golden Products. Each label gives pigment identification information as well as general guidelines for safe use, and on Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) which list hazards of product components without incorporating the use assumptions of toxicological risk assessment. Golden's label advice for using chemical products safely, while conservative, emphasizes the need to err on the side of caution when using art materials. It's a lot of information to fit onto a label, Golden believe it's the best service they can offer. More information about Golden Health & Safety Labelling

Write a reviewI have used Liquitex and Winsors Artist's Acrylics for years and yes they are amazing. However, I've been waiting for Bromleys to stock the Golden range, and now they do, I think I know my next purchase. Rich colours, low, to virtually no colour shift, thick butter like consistency and the most Oil-like of acrylics I've used to date. The mixing is out of this world. Thanks Ken Bromleys - a very happy customer. :)
Over the last 15 years. my palette of acrylic paints and accessories had expanded to approximately 50% of Golden products and 50% of 4 other widely available products. I was no longer enjoying acrylics as much as before, because I noticed mixing problems; poor flow release, and a growing lack of "zing" in the colours. After some research it became clear that the retardation and drying properties of the various paints and associated products were not compatible. The less heavy body alternatives were the root of the problem. I therefore took a decision to rationalise my palette to one manufacturer - Golden - for all my acrylic materials. The results have been immediate and impressive, with the colours massively enhanced over my previous paintings and no mixing related problems.
Although this produce is not cheap, a little goes a long way so it is quite good value. The quality is superb I do hope they never cheapen the product to reduce the price. It feels so good under the brush on canvas or paper. Once used you can't go back to a lesser quality paint
