Schmincke Universal Fixative Aerosol

Spray this fixative at room temperature and move the can from side to side, top to bottom to give the best coverage on your artwork. It is best vertically positioned between 30 and 40cm away from your work, although also works at a slight incline. Ensure that the change in direction of spray occurs away from the artwork. Only use on work that is 100% dry.

The level of gloss given to your work will depend on the absorbance of the surface, painting technique used and the thickness of the film. Applying this fixative as an intermediate layer can be helpful.

Using too much fixative on materials low in binding agents will cause the medium to darken. If too much of this fixative is used on paper it can make its surface more transparent.

Although this fixative offers some UV protection it is always advisable to use high-quality lightfast artists paints or inks.

If the spray nozzle becomes clogged it can be cleaned with acetone.

This Fixative is an extremely flammable aerosol, packed in a pressurised container. May burst if heated. Causes serious eye irritation.

Keep out of reach of children. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Do not spray on an open flame or other ignition source. Do not pierce or burn, even after use. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Protect from sunlight. Do not expose to temperatures exceeding 50 °C/122 °F. In case of insufficient ventilation and/or through use, explosive/highly flammable mixtures may develop.

Contains Benzotriazole derivate, dimethyl ether, polyvinyl resin, UV-absorber, alcohols (May produce an allergic reaction)
