Cobra Artist Water Mixable Oil Colour Gift Set

Having worked in acrylics for over forty years I finally decided to give Oil Paints a try. I chose water soluble Oils in part because they seemed to offer some of the virtues of Acrylics (easy clean up and no fumes) combined with the slow drying/easy blending qualites of traditional Oils.

I was a little skeptical about the notion of water soluble oils but was really pleasantly surprised by how well these Cobra Paints handle- they have a really nice feel straight from the tube and if you need to thin them down they mix smoothly with water. I haven't felt the need yet to use the medium that comes with the set but it's a nice addition.

Overall a really nice product and a great introduction to anyone wanting to try out water soluable Oils.

Set comes with everything to complete a painting except for the canvas
The colors are vibrant and have a buttery consistency, smooth and good coverage
Much easier to work with than regular oil paint and dries quicker, not much scent
Caps for the tubes are easy to put back on and the tubes contain a lot of paint
Mixing it with water lets the paint be thinned without using solvents
Easier to clean up after painting session

My wife is just getting into water miserable oils and she thinks this set is superb. She likes the brushes and the quality of the paints - an excellent gift.
