The Da Vinci Casaneo Series 498 Wash Brush is made from synthetic Kazan Squirrel hair and designed for use with watercolour paint or fluid acrylic colour. These brushes have black lacquered handles and are finished in a wire mop with a plastic quill. These brushes are 100% synthetic so are suitable for vegan artists or those looking for animal-friendly brushes.
The synthetic fibres of Da Vinci Casaneo watercolour brushes are extra soft and deliver exceptional elasticity and a high colour carrying capacity. The Series 498 Wash Brushes carries a high volume of colour, enabling artists to create large, smooth washes - while its fine point also allows for detail. It can also be used for calligraphy techniques.
These brushes have short handles.

I am thrilled with my da Vinci Casaneo wash brushes. They perform every bit as well as (much) more expensive ones. They hold water well, have a lovely pointed tip and I honestly can’t find fault with them.
