  • Beautiful, jewel like tones - a joy to use!

I read a lot about paint quality and composition, and just lately Daniel Smith has been emerging as a serious contender to W&N, so I was very pleased to find them available in the UK from Ken Bromely.

I am so glad I tried them - they present the most beautiful, jewel like tones, and their pigment strength seems much stronger than W&N - meaning that you can do more with less paint. Some of the marketing spiel is a little romantic, but they are a joy to use, and have completely won me over. I am gradually replacing my entire palette with these. Try them - I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

  • Daniel Simith watercolours

I had heard abou Daniel Smith watercolours for a while now. I decided to give it a go!
Thanks to your website, I could see how each colour behaved on paper.
I chose the one that appeared to behave the way I like watercolour.
I was not disapointed at all. They are bright, strong colours, they might be expensive but I do not need a lot at a time to work with.

  • Best I have tried

I usually use Daler-Rowney in this colour as I love it but this is quite different and if you like Shminke paint you will love this. It stays soluble in the palette for ages, has extreme concentration of pigment so it really is powerful, and an almost luminous quality. I try to buy British, but I really am starting to love DS paints, they are great value in the long run as they are so concentrated, even mopre than Winsor and Newton it seems.
