Derwent Graphitint XL Blocks are an innovative fusion of the renowned water-soluble Graphitint formula and a versatile XL Block. These blocks contain the equivalent of 8 pencils' worth of formula and are perfect for artists who want to experiment with bold mark making and expressive strokes. You can explore a range of techniques by using all sides of the stick, such as creating delicate lines with the corners or depositing colour in broad strokes by tilting it onto a flat side. These blocks can also be grated into a powder or broken down into smaller drawing tools. When used dry, they combine the beauty of graphite with subtle colour. To transform your marks into rich, yet muted washes, activate them easily with the sweep of a wet brush. You can use them alone or combine them with Graphitint Pencils and Blocks.

Write a reviewDerwent once again putting an interesting art development on the market, though there seems to be plenty of competition from all the big names - Caran d'Ache to name but one. These are not in pencil form so, for the less-than-purists, there is a lot more scope for HAVING FUN! There, I've said it! Sadly, we can't all be consummate artists, but we can all enjoy experimenting with a medium that inspires with its flexibility. Blocks and water for a misty hillside, inscribe a few trees and a fence with block corner and voila - instant picture! Those with greater skills could elaborate wonderfully. I thoroughly recommend them - a rewarding experience.
