Derwent Inktense pencils deliver vibrant colour that transforms into a translucent ink with the application of water. These pencils have a firm, blendable texture that can be used dry or manipulated with a slightly wetted paintbrush. They are fantastic for creating flourishes of detail or for painting light washes of vivid colour.
Incredibly versatile, these pencils can be used to create all kinds of art from Manga and silk painting to traditional watercolours and botanical illustration.

Whats not to love?
I have to be honest and I admit that I’ve had quite a few of these pencils to ‘try’. It doesn’t matter what colour I get they are all awesom. So what don’t do with them? I have one of these pencils in my computer desk and ine in every backpack or handbag I carry. I use them for quick sketches where ever I am and then just wash out the ink a little to give the sketch some depth. Not everything is gallery art, sometimes it’s just about recalling the moment with a little flair.

I have Inktense blocks, that I love, and wanted to try the pencils for more detailed work. Received a nice bright red, same great quality as the blocks, interesting colour for quick sketches as well.

I like to use these pencils alongside the Inktense paint pans. It allows me to get into small spaces easier, and when wet gives a jewel like finish. Very happy with my sample pencil.
