Gamblin Solvent Free Gel Medium

Gamblin Solvent Free Gel Medium is the only solvent free painting medium that can be used with a broad range of oil painting techniques without compromising on colour, dry time, texture and mark-making.

Mixing Solvent Free Gel with your oil paints will increase their flow and transparency, yet they will still retain the shape of your brush mark. It dries moderately fast and will also increase gloss. This medium is made from safflower oil and alkyd resin, meaning that this medium is completely non-toxic. It contains no Gamsol or petroleum distillates.

To ensure proper drying of paint layers this Gel should be used no more than 25% by volume with your oil colours. Avoid wrinkling by applying mixtures of Solvent-Free Gel and oil colours thinly.

For a completely solvent-free painting experience it is recommended that brushes are cleaned with safflower oil. Follow this up with further cleaning with soap and water, or Gamsol.
