Write a reviewI've had my easel for two weeks now and I'm really pleased with it. After looking at loads of easels online I went for this one because it had every feature I was looking for. It is sturdily built without being cumbersome or overly heavy. All the adjustable bits are easy to manipulate including the ratchet mechanism for the canvas rest. I did make two alterations; I cut 20 cm off the central painting support so it wouldn't hit the ceiling when the canvas rest is raised to maximum height (good for getting to the bottom of smallish paintings) and I took off the feet so the easel will slide around more easily. This is a lot of easel for a very moderate price.
Ordered Monday, arrived Tuesday - 45 seconds to de-box and stand it up-bliss! Perfect! No more struggling with a huge canvas on a table easel - I am totally happy! What great service and products!
This is a very well-made easel, and we would heartily recommend it to any Artist who wants a big easel which can handle big pictures. It is stable, far more stable than a tripod easel and much more difficult to kick away the legs. BUT it is NOT going to fit in your average saloon car without chopping a few bits off. I think you or Loxley need to make that clear in advertising.
First, I moved the front lugs for the uprights forward 12 cm (this also means that you don't kick the base support when you admire your picture close-up) and extended the slot in the uprights 12 cm so the easel will stow flat. I put a screw in to each of the grooves at the bottom of the uprights to stop the centre slider/picture support from falling out of the bottom when flat for transport. Last I sawed off the top 20 cm of the centre slider. NOW it fits across the back seat of my Wife's Corsa and I have a very happy Wife!
Loxley could have sorted this out before selling it. After all this it is STILL over 7 ft tall fully extended!
