Stretched to perfection
It's the ultimate surface, expertly stretched by hand. The faultless, finest grade cloth is primed with highly pigmented Gesso and is beautifully responsive to every brushstroke. The linen surface has greater strength and longevity compared to a cotton canvas. Ideal for use with oil and acrylic paints.
Built for endurance, with solid spruce wood stretcher bars that are kiln-dried for strength and rigorously tested for warp-resistance. No other surface comes close.
For the ultimate surface, choose Winsor & Newton canvas.
Profile Depth: 19mm.
The metric sizes are listed below.
If you've every bought pre-stretched canvases you may have been surprised to find a small bag of wooden pieces attached to the back of the canvas stretcher. Many people wonder what they are actually for! These wedges can be inserted into the slots in the back of your canvas stretcher, and are used to tighten up the canvas fabric to stop it from loosening. The tension of your canvas will depend on how firmly and deeply you insert the wedges into the slots.

Write a reviewWinsor & Newton linen canvasses have the edge on quality for me. Always well stretched and taut.
Excellent quality canvas: it is very easy to use and has a fairly smooth texture which is perfect for detailed work
The linen surface of these canvasses is beautiful to paint on, especially for fine detailing, and so much easier to cover than the cheap cotton versions you can get that have a larger grain that take much more paint to hide/cover them.
