Galeria White Gesso is made from high quality acrylic resin with a good level of pigment strength, it can be used straight from the pot and has excellent “tooth” for film adhesion. To reduce absorbency and to boost the integrity of the film, a minimum of two coats is required when working with oils. This is a good quality gesso at an affordable price.
Galeria black gesso has a matt black finish for maximum colour contrast and can be used straight from the pot.

Container was leaking on arrival
Wide-mouthed carton is flexible so that the seal on carton can be easily be disrupted as was the case with my delivery so that when it arrived it had leaked sufficient content to create quite a mess. Not KB's fault as it was well packaged but I feel that the carton is too flexible and deformable. Would not buy again.
Bromleys Art Supplies responded:Yes, you are right, the litre gesso plastic container is quite flexible. If the delivery company drop the box in which it is packed, not matter how much it is padded, it is possible to cause the pot to leak. This does not happen often, and for this reason this product is packed in a plastic bag so that the gesso does not leak onto other items in the box. We have contacted Winsor & Newton about improving the containers.

You can pay a lot more for Gesso but I have always found this product more than adequate. I like the wide lid - and it was well-packaged by KB, in view of previous complaints about it being easily damaged in transit.
