Derwent Paint Pens are a painting and drawing tool which deliver highly lightfast and permanent colour once dry. Each pen is fitted with a high-quality, durable 0.5 Japanese nib and is filled with vibrant, opaque colour.
Highly versatile, these pens can be used to create anything from fine linework to expressive drips and splatters. Their fine nib is perfect for creating smooth, skip free lines. While wet their ink is fully water-soluble so you can manipulate it with a wet brush, spritzer or other accessory to create transparent washes. Once dry their colour is completely permanent, so you can build up colour and work in layers. Derwent Paint Pens are also suitable for use on fabric, glass and wood allowing for endless sketching and painting possibilities for a wide range of projects.
As they are permanent they can stain clothing - if you do get it on fabric try to keep the area wet until it can be thoroughly washed.
These pens have a transparent barrel, so you can keep the paint level in check at all times and easily select the colour you require.
Choose from a selection of 20 vivid, opaque colours.
Derwent Paint Pen Palette Sets are also available.

Write a reviewI'm not very happy with these pens. When they are dry, you cannot draw with them and when you press them to pump the ink, it runs out all over the place so you can mess up your work.

Please see our Paint pen guide for information on how to clean out your nib if flodding does occour. Once the nib has been cleaned it should prevent this.

be very careful. these pens can drop large blobs of paint on your work.
ii got this pen because I'm wanting to work in white ink. i like derwent products as they usually excel. white ink is tricky. with that said i like the ink. getting the pen to work smoothly is a bit of a challenge. it says to shake well then depress for 10 seconds and wait. i did that and it worked great the first time. then it dried out i did it again and a blob of ink came down...it gets dried and i dip in water to loosen up...its not how i imagined... could use dome feed back from others about this pen. i want it to work the ink is perfect. thank you
