Rosa Gallery Empty Metal Watercolour Boxes are available in two colours and two sizes. Choose from either an Indigo or Turquoise finish in both 12 and 21 whole pan sizes. These empty watercolour boxes are the perfect storage and transport solution for travelling artists or those working in the studio. They allow you to select your own custom palette of colours, all held firmly in a secure box that is easily popped in a bag or case. The 21 whole pan box includes three rows of space perfect for those who prefer to paint with a wide selection of colours.
Each of these metal boxes features a metal thumb ring at the bottom, making it easy to hold onto the box while painting. They also feature a unique fastening system for each row of pans, making it easy to detach a row to free up a bit of space for a brush or pencil.
These boxes are designed for use with Rosa Watercolour Paints. Their pans have a chamfered edge and fit perfectly into the sets. While these empty boxes will take other brands of watercolour pan they won't hold the same amount. These boxes are sold empty and don’t include empty pans.

This box will take 12 Rosa Watercolour Whole Pans.
Fitting for standard pans
This box will fit 10 standard (non-Rosa) Whole Pans plus 2 standard (non-Rosa) half pans, or 21 standard (non-Rosa) half pans. Only the central row will fit 4 whole pans or 7 half pans. Each of the outer rows will fit 3 whole pans and one half pan or 7 half pans.
The 21 Whole Pan Box measures approximately 22 x 7 x 2.3cm.
This box will take 21 Rosa Watercolour Whole Pans
Fitting for standard pans
This box will fit 21 standard (non-Rosa) Whole Pans or 39 standard (non-Rosa) half pans, although the fit is snug. Each row will take either 7 whole pans or 13 half pans.

Nice Colour
12 pan tin holds more than 12 if you use the middle row. I attached magnetic tape to the bottom of some of my smaller pans to avoid bending the springs. Very happy with the quality.

I bought this to replace an old large tin pallet. The old pallet did not have mixing wells, just a large mixing area. I found that the paint would spread and dry when doing a large wash.
This pallet has 5 good sized mixing wells plus smaller wells on the other side. I fill it with full size empty pans and fill these with tube paints. I have 14 pans but only use 12 colours, so have two pans free. It will hold another 7 full pans - making 21 in total (I assume 41 half pans).
