Amazing pencils
These pencils are indeed very matte. I bought a single pencil from HB up to 14B each so I was able to see how each grade works.
The lower grade pencils are not as dark as regular graphite pencils, but that is why I end up using up to 8B and in some cases 10B. Nevertheless, they do produce a matte result with only a small amount of reflection (it is still graphite after all) and blend easily with a blender stump.
Also, I did manage to get through most of my HB pencil on a single 11" x 14" drawing, so I will be stocking up on HB pencils.

love these pencils. So far I have the HB, 2B, 4B, 6B & 8B. My favourite is the 2B. They lay down smoothly and I am impressed by the matt finish.

Excellent quality as usual these matt pencils live up to the claims made in the description you read prior to buying, they really are an answer to any graphite artist who dislikes that silver sheen on their work, they are not totally matt but are so close, highly recommended.
