The Masters Choice was manufactured by Baohong in response to the requirement of Western Watercolourists and, out of gratitude to the artists that played a role in making the paper, the mill now feature a selection of their artworks on the block covers. Made in China, these blocks undergo rigorous testing to ensure a quality that rivals traditional European Papers.

Write a reviewI have used baohong masters choice rough, not and hot pressed for several months. I am now using the blocks that I find suits my requirements. The paper holds color well and allows a range of techniques. I can only thank Ken Bromleys for stocking this paper and I urge any artist to try it.
This watercolour block is no better than Arches. It does warp and buckle when painting wet on wet but no more than others. It’s great for quick watercolour sketches but not a patch on properly stretched paper. Convenient if you paint outdoors. Quite good value and works well for wet on dry as surface less likely to buckle.
Good watercolour paper, does what I want.
