Magnani 1404 Watercolour Paper is an Italian made, 100% Cotton watercolour painting surface available in three textures; Portofino (Hot Pressed), Italia (NOT) and Toscana (Rough). This paper is made on a traditional cylinder mould machine of an exclusive design, which gives the paper a unique finish that is distinct to Magnani alone.
Made without the use of acids or chlorine derivatives, this surface is certified with ISO 9706 ‘Long Life’ durability that ensures your work will remain stable over time. Each sheet is internally sized with vegan sizing to ensure maximum colour yield on its surface. This paper has a natural white colour.

Great paper
This has become my go to paper. It has a nice texture ( both rough and cold press). Pigment flows beautifully, and you can use lifting techniques without compromising the surface, unlike more expensive papers, that are also 100% cotton. Great value

I bought a small pad of this paper to try and it was a joy to paint on. My trees are the best I've ever done, so I didn't hesitate in buying some loose sheets. The watercolour flows beautifully, and it's great value for money. I've not thrown a lot of water at it yet but I always stretch my paper so I don't envisage any issues. I shall definitely be using it as my go to paper from now on.

Magnani being my new favourite watercolour paper, I was pleased to find sheets for larger scale work.
I regularly use the pads in various shapes and sizes and have total confidence in the performance of the different surfaces.
