Write a reviewSome time ago I purchased a block of both the Not and the Rough and have had excellent results with both. I am not (no pun intended) keen on stretching paper and now always go for the 200lb or 300lb. I recently finished a painting of waterfalls in a gorge and there were two small trees jambed against rocks. I left them out of the painting as they were a distraction, consequently I had to readjust the flow of the water to look right. I had seven attempts on one area of the painting before I was satisfied and the paper never batted an eye lid (if that makes sense). It is tough.I was able to lift colour too where necessary. The 200lb will cockle somewhat with a really wet wash but in my case it always has dried flat.
I love the 200 gsm block great size. I like the softness of the suface its not too brittle. The rough works for me though i still get a buckle if i wet it too much even if I let it completely dry out. Don't dry it in full hot sun as the paper curls off the backing board which i'm sure will happen to any block.
Found this block just as good if not better than other extra rough more expensive papers.
