The Derwent Super Point Mini Manual Pencil Sharpener features a durable helical blade that will sharpen your pencils to a fine point ideal for detailed work. Features of this sharpener include:
Extendable front plate/self feeding mechanism.
Sliding tray reservoir is easily emptied.
Includes desk clamp.
Durable Helical blade sharpens to a fine point.
This pencil sharpener will take graphite and coloured pencils up to 8mm in diameter. This sharpener is not suitable for chalk, crayons, pastel pencils and soft colouring pencils as they can clog up or damage the cutter blades.
If you find that your sharpener is not working effectively it is possible that a loose lead has been caught inside the mechanism. If this is the case you should take the sharpener to pieces and check for any broken pieces of lead that may be preventing the sharpener from sharpening. Twist the handle of the crank anticlockwise. As you turn it the handle should become loose. Once released, gently pull the handle out of the sharpener.
Whe fully removed, clear the blade of any debris that has collected in the helical blade.
Check the hollow down the centre of the helical blade as this may also contain loose debris. If you look down the hollow in the blade you should be able to see through a small hole at the bottom.
Once the blade is free of loose debris reassemble the sharpener. The blade should slot back into the body of the sharpener and lock into position once turned clockwise.

Fantastic long points
For many years I have tried many types of sharpener, never finding one I liked until now. This sharpener by Derwent is fantastic giving very long sharp points, making them ideal for fine detail and used on the side for shading. This sharpener has given new life to my graphite and Inktense pencils, Highly recommended product.

love this little manual sharpener, sharpen to a long point which allows you to see more of the paper in fine detail work. The grip that holds the pencil is just a bit too tight, but probably require to form the superpoint. Uses helical blade which never dulls and no batteries need.
