All Caran d'Ache Grafwood Graphite Pencils are rated with Good (***) lightfastness based on international ASTM D-6901 certification & the Blue Wool Scale. All grades of Grafwood pencils contain a small amount of tallow, animal fat extract.
9B - 3B : Extra fine graphite pencils to allow uniform shading of large areas and a regular, intense stroke.
2B - H : Extra-fine graphite pencils for hatching and superimposing.
HB : Extra-fine graphite for hatching and superimposing.
2H - 4H : Extra-fine graphite pencils for intense, regular, fine and extra fine lines (technical drawing, scientific illustration, etc).
Type : Extra-fine, hexagonal graphite pencils for optimal grip
Lead : superior quality, hard to soft depending on the degree, diameter ranges from 2.1 - 3.6 mm
Pencil : hexagonal, 8 ply, encased, varnish matches hardness degree Premium FSC certified cedar wood
Techniques : pointillism, hatching, writing, sketching, shading, blurring, technical and artistic design, mixed techniques.

Simply excellent
I switched to Caran d'Ache after using Derwent pencil that drove me crazy with their constant breaking.

I'm no major artist, but these pencils are worth the extra money, very smooth lead no scratching even when very sharp, a thicker pencil than the F&C 9000 I had before, and the easy colour recognition is a nice touch, will buy more!
