Write a reviewPrestige rough is one of the more expensive watercolour papers, but is well worth the cost for the professional artist or keen amateur looking for a robust quality all-round performer, with a significant but not overly regular texture. It’s whiter than most papers and reflects the colour well, and takes wet washes and dryer techniques equally. It allows for easy application of layers of washes over washes, absorbing the watercolour well, whilst also allowing a degree of lifting. I particularly like applying dry(ish) brush paint over a dry wash. A word of caution though - the paper needs careful handling to avoid damaging the surface and a good stretch before use to avoid too much distortion.
This extremely good quality paper. I love that it's 100% cotton; the rough surface has just the right amount of texture and it's a lovely bright natural white colour. I use this paper for watercolour painting and it has fast become one of my most favourite watercolour papers (my other long standing favourite being Arches watercolour paper). It is beautiful paper to paint on; the paint flows beautifully across the surface and it can withstand quite a lot of water. I love this paper and would highly recommend it to anyone who love to paint with watercolours.
This is my favourite rough watercolour paper, a delight to work with.
