All Snazaroo face paints are specially formulated to be fragrance-free and friendly to most delicate skin. However, we recommend that before you start you swipe a small area inside your arm or elbow to check for any allergies.
Snazaroo face paints are made to be compliant with EU and US Toy Safety and cosmetic regulations. They are not classified as hazardous to health or environment
Some Snazaroo face paints contain lanolin, which is an animal-derived ingredient, so they will not be suitable for anyone wishing to avoid using animal ingredients. There are no animal-derviced ingredients other than lanolin that are used in the manufacture of these face paints.
Snazaroo paints are compliant to cosmetic regulations and there are no know ingredients in them that are known to be unsafe to pregnant women. If you do have any queries then please consult a doctor before use.
No Snazaroo products are tested on animals.
Snazaroo products do not contain gluten or nuts. Although Snazaroo have strict manufacturing procedures, their manufacturing facilities are not subject to routine nut testing, and therefore, they cannot support a nut-free claim.
As all Snazaroo face paints are water-based, they can easily be removed with soap and warm water with no need for scrubbing or harsh removers. Gentle face wipes can also be used for removal.
It is recommended that your face paints are used within 18 months of opening.
Snazaroo face paints are suitable for all ages, but they recommend face painting for children ages 3 years and over. When painting younger children, it is better to opt for smaller designs such as a small motif on their hands, arms or cheek.
As they are water-based, Snazaroo paints will wash out of most fabrics. Please bear in mind that, due to the high pigmentation of these paints, some colours may stain skin or fabric.
Face paint will stay on until you wash it off, under normal circumstances. Always remove the paint before you go to bed.

Once applied the face paint will become touch dry. It may rub off if something brushes up against it or if it comes into contact with water.

It is difficult to estimate exactly how much paint will be needed to cover one face as it can vary dramatically depending on the thickness of application and how much of the face you want to cover. A general rule of thumb is:
Due to differences in body shapes and sizes and also the thickness of the paint, it is difficult to calculate how much paint will be needed. On average 1 x 18ml pot will easily cover an adult of average size from head to toe.
No, Snazaroo face paints will not offer sun protection. Using a sunblock underneath the paint is down to personal choice, but in some cases may make the paint difficult to apply. It is also undetermined how the face paint will affect the performance of the sunblock.
Although they are designed for the face and body, Snazaroo paints can be used in the hair as they are water-based. As some colours are very highly-pigmented you may find that they may stain lighter hair. It is not advisable to apply dark colours to light hair.
All Snazaroo Face Paints are water-based and only require a small amount of water to give good even coverage. Streaking usually occurs when too much water is added to your brush or sponge, so firstly try using a little less water. The best non-streak results and better coverage are achieved when using a high density make-up sponge.
